BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Heart Gallery and Art Centre, Hebden Bridge

The dial on the front wall declines 3 degrees 40 minutes East. The motto reads ’Quod Petis Umbra Est’ (What thou seekest is a shadow). Sturdy gnomon. EoT corrections given for 38 dates in year. Black lettering on stone ground. Shows 6am to 5pm in quarters. Split substyle time scale. Ref Gatty 1900 p 382.
