BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (W)

The dial commemorates the sponsors (Marks & Spencer) of a sheltered housing development in Leeds, and is located near the entrance, above two small ground floor windows on the south east side of the building. It is inscribed ’ST MICHAEL COURT’ across the top. The date ’1984 / AD’ is central above noon in the chapter ring, and across the base of the dial plate is ’Lat 53 47 North Decl South 4 24 East’. The upper half of the dial inside the chapter ring is filled with a large flaming sun face. Upright Arabic hour numerals for 6am to 5pm, with hour and half hour lines. All the furniture is gilded.
