BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Yorkshire (W)

Circular dial engraved in top surface of square stone block. Scrollwork in corners and down either side of dial. Stone is dark in colour with thin gnomon, possibly s/s. Gnomon root at the centre of the dial plate, with full circular chapter ring. Dial read from North and from outside the chapter ring. Shows 4am to 8pm in aligned Arabic hours. Noon ’numeral’ shows damage but may be cross patty.
