BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St John’s Church, Leeds

Motto reads: "So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom", Psalm 90 v12. A square dial with large graduated semicircle on diameter of horizon line, sunface to upper right and motto beneath. Shows 6am to 6pm in quarter hours only - no specific half hour markers. Uses XII and IIII. Incised lines in stone. Externally mounted gallows like gnomon. Dial rests on ledge- like corbel and secured with two hooks. Ref Gatty 1900 p 407.
