BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Woodhorn

The church is a Grade 1 Listed Building, now redundant. The dial has been vandalised but retains the interest of a Freemasonry symbol at the top. The top of the dial plate is now illegible, but the motto on the lower part of the plate reads: "Soles pereunt et imputantur". The Grade 1 Listing says the dial date is 1818 but Mrs Gatty says the dial has the letters T. R. S. and 1840. Ref: Rev W S Calverley publ Titus Wilson, Kendal 1899, p 239. Also Mrs Gatty.
