BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Cuthbert’s Church, 33

The stone (sandstone?) is flaking as so commonly seen in local dials. Motto reads: "Hora fugit". A square dial set in lozenge orientation. The date, 1842, is split on either side of the dial. Latitude (worn) was read as 50 deg 30 mins by one recorder and 54 deg 50 mins by another (the latter is more correct). A finger ended bar gnomon with double supporter in a ’V’.
