BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Egremont Castle, Egremont

All four faces in good condition, but all gnomons are missing, with bronze remains still present. All faces show hours and half hours The cube is surmounted by a truncated four-sided cone with chamfered corners, and sits on a circular base, 270 high, with the inscription ’Sic transit Gloria Mundi’, possibly a later addition. This in turn sits on a square stone plate with chamfered upper edge, supported by a square stone pedestal.
