BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Motto not recorded. Refer to p260 of Henslow’s Ye Sundial Booke. Dial now said to be in loft of outbuildings. Plinth top, W face: ’Staie, Passenger [passer-by], tell me my name and thy nature’ / [almost effaced:] ’Thy name is Dieall, I am a mortal creature’. Plinth top, E face: ’Since my name and thy nature soe agree’, / [almost effaced:] Think of thyself when thou lookst upon me’.
