BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

The dial was a gift of the maker to the village, where he was born in 1753. It is elaborate and similar to SRN 0183 in the same area. It shows 4am to 8pm in 30, 15, 10, 5 and 2 minute marks, with an 8 point compass rose and a watch faster/slower EoT scale. Solid gnomon (55degs). The dial is poorly fixed to an elaborate red sandstone pedestal and in need of attention in 1990.
