BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Peter’s Church, Askam-in-Furness

The numerals are readable and fairly deeply incised. Inscribed ’Jo. Wood Sculpsit’ and in a circle below the maker’s name is ’GB 16’. Compare SRN 7022 at Troutbeck which is marked ’GB 1766’. Missing gnomon. Octagonal red sandstone pillar, square at the top. Last seen by R Sylvester 2006.
