BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Mary’s Church, Staindrop

A very neat, clear and well incised stone dial with the motto: ’Man fleeth as a shadow’ around a semicircular arch. A 6-point star at gnomon root. Supported securely on two stone corbels in the gable above the south porch.
