BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

The Lord Eldon Public House, Knutsford

A very simple and elegant dial. Clear figures, hour lines (for BST) and lettering on a piece of slate. It declines to the east, hence there are more of the morning hours shown than afternoon ours. A fine motto for a public house, ’Waste not the Hours’ whilst standing there looking at the dial, but come inside.
