BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Lyme Park [NT] (1), Disley

The dial is on the building known as Lyme Cage, an Elizabethan Tower, rebuilt in 1733-35. The dial may postdate this, and was restored in 1998. The motto reads: "Vive Hodie" (Live for today). This is one of three dials on the Cage. It shows 5am to 1pm divided to 15 minutes. Ref: Mrs Gatty
