BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cheshire

The dial is in the rear garden. An inscription reads: ’To find the time at Greenwich add 10 min to the dial.’ Lat 55deg 20min. Shows 4am to 8pm in quarter hours. Dial made for the East Lothian area in about 1840s when Richard Melvin/Melville flourished. Baluster pedestal with recess for dial. Restored in 2001 with new gnomon made by G Aldred.
