BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is set canted west in the roof line of the left side of the porch. At the top is the motto, "Watch and Pray Time Haste’s (sic) Away". The redundant apostrophe is not a new invention. Its bottom left hand corner is obscured by the end of a barge board so that we can no longer see the maker’s name ’H. Littleton’ though at the right hand side the word ’Polperro’ is clearly visible. The curved top of the dial leaves no room for either VI and though it shows the hours from VII to V they are not divided into halves and quarters except between IX and IV.
