BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
Although Paul Quick did a fine job on this slate dial on the tower in 1737 he is not known to have made any others. Below the winged head the misspelled motto, "The Glory of the World Paseth" is more familiar in its Latin form. The dial declines slightly east and shows the hours VI - V divided into halves and quarters. There are crossbones at either side of the gnomon root. The gnomon is probably a replacement. Cracks across the dial plate were not recorded when Mrs Crowley drew the dial in 1961.
