BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This church is difficult of access down a very narrow lane which ends at a farm. In summer it might be better to walk there along one of the public footpaths which converge on it. The dial is a good one, well made and worth visiting. It is canted slightly westward on the porch. The motto across the top, "Sicut Umbra transeunt Dies" (The days pass like a shadow. Note the small ’t’ of transeunt). Below the motto the arch is filled with a cleanly carved motif. The dial itself has all that is needed with no embellishment, the hours VI - VI being divided into halves and quarters. The gnomon has a scrolled supporter.
