BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
This is an old dial very high in the gable of the south chancel. It has a familiar shape with a central circular finial and smaller ones at the sides. The date and initials EA, possibly the maker, are engraved in the central finial. The side edges of the slate have a decorative outline. It declines 16° East and shows VI - IV in hours; the dots between the numerals do not seem to be half hour markers. It uses XII and IIII. The motto reads: "As time and hours pas away, So douth y(e) life of man decay".
