BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

All Hallows’ Church, Broadwood Kelly

The winged cherub in the arch of this slate dial on the church porch with his feathered chest looks as though he is incubating a circular egg surrounding the gnomon root. So thought Mrs Crowley who compares this dial with the much more ornate one at Bondleigh. The decorative prolongation of the arch means that the there is no room for VI and VI and the hours VII to V are shown divided into halves and quarters. The initials M .W. at the top of the dial plate are probably those of the churchwarden. It is not a large dial, measuring 410mmh x 380mmw.
