BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

All Saints’ Parish Church, North Molton

This slate dial on the south porch is set on top of an older one. It is said to have been restored in 1987 but it is not in good condition. The cherub in the left upper corner has flown, the one in the right hand corner is a ghost of its former self, the numerals, formerly VI - VI with a fleur-de-lys at noon, have all gone and the sun face round the gnomon root can barely be distinguished. In 1953 Mrs Crowley confidently drew the date as 1818 but she did not show a motto in the space available for one. She commented on the poor quality of the slate. We can at least be sure that the hours were divided into halves and quarters since the lines remain. The gnomon has fared better and appears to be original.
