BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The church lies well above the village and the dial on its porch has in the arch at the top the crudely engraved "Apr 25". Below this is the year 1678. It would be very unusual to record the actual day on which the dial was installed and the date given is not that of All Saints Day. The untidy carving in the arch was probably added later but we shall never know why. The dial itself is a plain one with undivided hours VI - VI. The dial plate has a curving crack across its width. The gnomon is a replacement.
