BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Holy Trinity Church, Ilfracombe

This is a well-proportioned dial mounted slightly off centre on the porch. It has survived the years since 1788 very well apart from some damage to the lower right corner of the slate and remains easy to read. It is of a fairly standard design with the date across the arch and a sunburst surrounding the root of the gnomon below. It shows hours VI - VI divided into halves by lines bearing a fleur de lys, and into quarters. It is canted a little towards the East to achieve due South orientation. It measures 330mmw x 460mmh.
