BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Over the south porch door, where the wall faces 5 or 10 degrees west of south, the dial being canted out on the left to compensate. It shows 6am to 6pm in upright Roman numerals, using XII and IV, in 30, 15 and 5mins intervals, with a split noon. The motto in an arc below the gnomon root reads: ’MEMOR ESTO BREVIS AEVI’ (Bear in mind how short life is), and across the top is ’18 WWOOD 55’, the ’WW’ formed by three interlaced Vs. William Wood 1787-1860 was a schoolmaster who had served under Nelson at Trafalgar. He is buried here.
