BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

St Aldhelm’s Church, Shepton Mallet

The dial is set into stonework above the window of the South transept, and is canted out on the left hand side to face South. The date 1766 and initials ’ML’ are still visible along the upper edge of the dial plate. Upright numerals VI - XII - IIII - VI, with hour lines to a small semcircle around the gnomon root, and small half and quarter hour marks. The gnomon is a plain iron plate with a shaped under-edge.
