BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.

Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.

Dial in Cumbria

Two mottoes read: "Ne Puer atque Puella" and "Live rightly, laugh thro’ shine and shower. No thought will stay the fleeting hour". The dial is mounted on much earlier octagonal pedestal with a circular 5-leaf décor on the south face. The pedestal has a square capital and base on a three step plinth. It is now shaded by trees.
