BRIDOL is the British Sundial Society's Register of Fixed and Mass Dials, which gives detail and photographs of about 8000 fixed sundials and 3000 mass dials in the UK.
Some of these are in private gardens, but the majority are publicly available.
The dial is near the greenhouses. Six ring memorial armillary sphere. On square stone pillar 3ft high set diagonally on stone step in paved area. Ecliptic circle carries zodiac signs. Shows 5am to 8pm in hours. Gnomon angle 56d. Date on plaque. Inscr on E/W circle reads ’Harold Roy Fletcher 1907-1917 who loved this garden’.
